Responsibilities
This position focuses on compliance, including direct tax, transfer pricing, and indirect tax. It also encompasses responsibilities related to financial reporting, internal audits, and MIS reporting. The role requires firsthand experience with the SAP FICO module. The primary responsibility is to ensure compliance with all types of tax regulations pertaining to finance while maintaining a high standard of quality control in reporting.
Key Accountabilities
Compliance Direct Tax: Income Tax and Transfer Pricing
- Calculate withholding tax based on applicable rates and file quarterly returns
- Calculate advance tax and self-assessment income tax on a quarterly basis
- Assist in gathering assessment documents required for hearings and represent the company in income tax, withholding tax, and transfer pricing hearings
- Coordinate with local and global tax consultants on matters related to income tax, transfer pricing, and assessments
- Keep the team informed about the latest amendments in direct tax regulations
- Consult with statutory, internal, and transfer pricing auditors during audits
- Manage all relevant documents, challans, assessment notices, and orders, and coordinate with local and global consultants
- Address issues that arise during audits and assess potential risks
- Coordinate with all banks on various transactions, topics, including but not limited to imports and exports
Indirect Tax: GST and Customs
- Calculate monthly GST liabilities, file returns, and reconcile input tax credit (ITC) with liabilities
- Collaborate with consultants to collate documents required for filing returns, calculations, payments, and hearings during assessments
- Represent the company in hearings and provide updated assessment statuses for GST and customs to auditors and global consultants
- Coordinate with local and global customs consultants on topics such as tax, duty, HSN codes, and calculation methods
MIS: Finance and Controlling
- Assist in calculating long-range plans and forecasts, ensuring that deadlines are met
- Contribute to the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements in accordance with IFRS and local GAAP
- Help resolve AR/AP-related topics and coordinate with customers and vendors for reconciliation
- Prepare MIS reports for sales, OPEX, CAPEX, and IT expenses.
- Collaborate with the finance and controlling team to implement projects and assist in UAT to verify processes and results

Requirements
- Postgraduate & CA from a recognized university and institute
- Over 5 years of post-graduation firsthand experience in income tax, transfer pricing, GST, and customs compliance
- Prior experience in the trading or manufacturing industry is required. In-depth knowledge of income tax, transfer pricing, and GST tax structures within India. Proficient in MS Office, especially Word and Excel
- Must have working knowledge of the SAP FICO module
- Strong proficiency in written and verbal communication in English
