Technical Marketing Specialist – Liquid Coatings
Responsibilities
The primary function of the position “Technical Marketing Specialist – Liquid Coatings” is to complete technical activities for automotive and industrial applications as directed by the Technical Marketing Manager – Liquid Coatings of ECKART America.
In this position, you will be responsible for

Provide technical support activities for liquid coating applications in accordance with customer requests or as directed by the Technical Marketing Manager – Liquid Coatings.

Provide assistance in product development programs to meet business needs for efficiency improvement of existing products and processes, introduction of new products for existing businesses, and development of new business applications for existing core technologies.

Respond to customer requests for product recommendations and formulation/application assistance as needed.

Assist in the development of starting point formulations and generate market relevant performance data to assist customers in the proper use of ECKART products.

Support the development and creation of display materials for sales, distribution, customers, and for trade shows.

Investigate customer technical complaints and resolve issues to an acceptable conclusion.

Maintain a working knowledge of spray application technologies such as air assisted spraying and electrostatic rotary bell application.

Be responsible for housekeeping in the laboratory and spray areas.

Be responsible for ordering the necessary equipment, solvents, resins, etc. , for the proper functioning of an assigned project.

Complete monthly reports for activity in the department.

Continue to develop an in-depth knowledge and keep up to date on trends and developments of all effect pigments used in the liquid coatings industries.

Maintain a current knowledge of the entire global ECKART product line to include new products being introduced to the marketplace.

Provide training assistance on the ECKART product line to internal and external customers and the distribution network.

Perform job requirements within the company's safety and housekeeping policies and in compliance with established ISO procedures.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
- Required Education: A degree in one of the physical sciences is preferred.
- Required Work Experience: Five (5) + years of industry experience.
- Preferred Education & Experience: Exposure to paint and coatings technology and application methods or experience in effect pigment technology is helpful.
- Licensure/Certification: None.
- Travel Required: Limited domestic and/or regional (NAFTA) travel with overnight stays may be required.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
- Work is performed in a lab/plant environment, working near moving mechanical parts, exposure to fumes or airborne particles, and chemicals.
- Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud when in the production area.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus.
- Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
